JOB TITLE: Radiology/Ultrasound Tech, preferred CT and/or Cardiac sonography training

 

Full-time, 4 days a week (rotating days);

Rotating Call, evenings, weekends and holidays

 

REPORTS TO: Radiology Manager

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Works cooperatively with all hospital departments, medical staff, patients and families.

Employee will perform multi-modality radiographic procedures, including but not limited to X-ray, C-Arm, CT, and Ultrasound. Exercises profession judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary of medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience as radiological technologist preferred. Demonstrate a knowledge base and experience to successfully function within the position.

 

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited program in radiological technology required.

Graduate of accredited sonography program preferred or willingness to cross-train.

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in radiography.

Certification with ARDMS or CCI, or equivalent, is preferred.

Certification or Training in CT is preferred.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs Diagnostic Imaging Procedures:
Corroborates patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
Prepares patient for procedures.
Selects and operates radiology equipment and associated accessories to achieve desired results.
Positions and immobilizes patient as required for appropriate examination.
Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
Exercise precautions in patient applications, respecting the needs of the patients during procedures.
Initiates basic life support when needed.

 

Provides patient education
Assists in maintaining records, respecting confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
Assumes responsibility for assigned area and report equipment malfunction
May be responsible for inventory and purchasing of supplies for assigned areas.
Understands and applies patient relations skills
Pursues appropriate continuing education.
