Cable Roller

Overview

General Purpose of Position

The purpose of the Cable Roller position is to size, dress and produce various lengths and types of electrical cable for use on pivot irrigation systems.

 

Essential Functions

Upon training completion, must be able to demonstrate proficiency on rolling and measuring various lengths and types of cable while maintaining output and quality.
Must be able to use hand and power tools correctly.
As required, must be able to run a forklift and secure a forklift license.
Must be familiar and cognizant of safety guidelines throughout the company.
Must maintain a good attendance and punctuality record.
Must be able to gather and record statistical data accurately.
Must be able to demonstrate an understanding and use of measuring equipment i.e. measuring tapes, machine counters, etc.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand Engineering schematics, measurements and symbols as applicable.
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, as they will interact with other departments, professional staff and management of the company.
Must be able to work with limited supervision and show/demonstrate initiative, tact, good judgement and sound reasoning.
Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position.
Must have neat and legible handwriting.
Will perform other related duties as directed by supervision.

Will receive on the job training.

 

Machines, Tools, Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment Used

Must be able to properly operate the cable rolling machines.   Must also utilize,  read and properly understand the use of a tape measure. .  Will require the use of safety glasses with side shields, protective footwear, gloves,  and hearing protection.

Will receive on the job training.  Some heavy lifting and material handling is required
