Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, monitoring, and troubleshooting equipment associated with internet, voice, video, and data networks. You will play a crucial role in ensuring network stability, optimizing traffic loads, and resolving potential outages.

Role and Responsibilities:

Design and commission IP-enabled internet infrastructures.
Monitor network health using network management tools and troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
Support wireless transport and wireless subscriber access points.
Act as a technical escalation point for IP communications, video-related issues, and wireless subscriber delivery systems.
Document and manage IP address schemes and assign IP addresses.
Maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
Design, provision, and program equipment required for the growth of the internet network.
Assist in completing progress reports and final reports for projects.
Interface with appropriate personnel to clear faults within the internet transport and distribution system.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of network testing software and remote testing procedures.
Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic circuitry.
Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret computer reports and printouts.
Knowledge of networking including LAN and WAN.
Ability to perform router programming.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, modems, and protocols.
Knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 switching, QoS, MPLS, 802.1Q tagging, and emerging IP LAN and transport protocols.
Knowledge of cat6 cabling termination and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of LINUX and Windows-based servers.
Knowledge of configuration, operations and maintenance of Cisco, Brocade, Adtran, Occam, Calix, Cyan and routing and switching equipment.
Knowledge of IP addressing schemes and routing protocols BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), MSDP (Multicast
Source Discovery Protocol), PIM (Protocol Independent Multicast), IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol), MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service), etc.
Knowledge of Network Management Tools, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) based and proprietary, such as Cacti, PRTG, and other vendor specific NMS (Network Management System)..
Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple work assignments.
Ability to complete work accurately under time constraints and deadlines.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license.

Associate degree in Communications Technology, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent.
Five years of experience in LAN/WAN networking, Central Office transport, IP transport, routing, and network design.
Strong knowledge of Linux, SQL, and TCP-IP Engineering.
Proficiency in network testing software, basic electrical and electronic circuitry, and network management tools.
Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and prioritize multiple work assignments.
Valid Kansas driver’s license required.

This position offers a starting salary of $75,027.00 or more based on experience.

Background Checks:
This position requires a background check to be conducted during offer status.
