Main Street Arts Council – Nex-Generation Internship

Theatrical Interns:  Our Theatrical Interns will assist a show director in the preparing for and rehearsing of a full-scale, children’s musical in one of our participating communities. Interns will learn all of the in’s and out’s of putting on a production and will gain valuable hands-on experience throughout the process. They will assist with show design, direction, fundraising, rehearsals, building sets/props, costuming, lights/sound, ticket sales, marketing, and more.

Marketing Intern: Our Marketing Intern will assist Main Street Arts Council staff with the promotion of the annual, 2023 Main Street Summer Theater Festival, which provides free performance and learning opportunities for area youth ages 5-18 from the northwest Kansas region. The 2023 season is tentatively scheduled to include performances in Atwood, Colby, Goodland, Hoxie, and Quinter. The Marketing Intern will assist with all aspects of promoting the festival through various mediums including web, email, social media, print, news, and radio. This position requires creativity, great attention to detail, an affinity for the arts, theater and music, and the ability to handle multiple projects at one time. Graphic design skills are highly sought.
